Team Registration

It’s time to register your swimmer(s) for the Park Paseo Northstars Swim Team.

Please read over the following material carefully. To make sure your swimmer is registered for swim team.

IMPORTANT:

Your swimmer(s) will not be registered until you have turned in all paperwork and checks.

Registration

Cost will be $215 for each swimmer and each additional sibling(s) will be $200.

Checks or money orders only, no cash. Please make check out to Park Paseo Northstars. The deadline to withdraw from the team with a full refund is May 31^st.

After May 31^st, there will be no refunds.

If you are adding a new swimmer, any swimmer who did not swim for Park Paseo last year, you will need to include: 2 copies of the new swimmer’s birth certificate, 2 proofs of Irvine residency and a Statement of Detachment if this swimmer is 7 or older by 6/1/2011. Practices and Meets

Our practices will begin on June 6^th and end on August 11^th and will be held Monday through Thursday from 3:30-7:30p.m. with younger/less experienced swimmers swimming first. Our meets will be held on Saturday June 18th & 25th, and July 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30^th with check-in beginning at 8a.m. The championship meet will be held on August 13, 2011.

Volunteer Swimmer Coaches

The Northstars Swim Team also has volunteer opportunities for swimmer coaches. We are looking for dedicated, reliable and motivated teen swimmers, ages 15 – 18, to help our coaches at practices. These will not be paid positions, but the young people will earn community service hours reported to their high schools. Swimmer coaches will be expected to pay the registration fee and their parents will be expected to do the volunteer jobs. Working for the team in a volunteer capacity, however, may lead to job opportunities in the summers that follow.

Swim Suit and Spirit Wear Orders

We will be taking orders for swimsuits and spirit wear at the job sign-up meeting. Your child will need a Northstars swimsuit in order to swim at the meets. Swimmers with long hair will also be required to wear a cap. If you have questions about suit size please bring your child along for a fitting.

Fun Swim

During the meet’s half-time break there will be a “race” for swimmers who are not on the swim team, for example, younger siblings or an adult relay team. You will be able to register yourself and/or your younger children for “Fun Swim” during the job sign-up meeting.

Each child and parent who registers for this must be on record with the ISL.

The cost is $15.

The following will be accepted as verification of City of Irvine residence. Original documents must be shown to the team registrar with copies provided to the ISL registrar.

Any two documents from the list below will be accepted as proof of residence.

• Current Electric bill - both parts, top & bottom, in English or verification of electrical service connection.
• Current Electric bill - both parts, top & bottom, in English or verification of electrical service connection.
• Current Southern California Gas bill - both parts, top & bottom, in English or verification of gas service connection.
• Current Cable bill - both parts, top & bottom, in English
• Current Official Property Tax Forms or Income Tax Correspondence (The address to which these documents were nlailed must match the address that is being used to establish residency)
• Current Water Bill - both parts, top & bottom, in English or verification of water service connection.
• Current Waste Management Bill - both parts, top & bottom, in English
• Current Payroll Stub - both name and address must appear on payroll stub
• Current Social Services documents
• UCI Housing; an official UCI document asserting the person resides in student housing, which usually covers gas and electric.
• If you are a renter and do not pay utilities because it is included in the rent, we will need a letter from the lessor and/or a copy of the rental agreement stating that utilities are included.
• In the case of purchasing a home under construction, New Communities K-12 Enrollment Address Verification form may be obtained at the sales office and will be accepted as temporary residency verification.

* Note: In the event a utility service connection is used as proof of residency, then a utility bill (both parts, in English) must be provided within 45 days to assure continued enrollment.
